New functionality to enhance information sharing launched in April 2022:

  1. Connect Care Summative Notes through eDelivery

When a patient is admitted to an AHS facility enabled on Connect Care and shares the name of their primary care provider upon registration or admission, that provider will receive additional documents via eDelivery* to their EMR. See the notice and FAQ from AHS about this enhancement to support continuity of care.

*The provider needs to be signed up for eDelivery.

2.  CPAR Primary Provider now in Alberta Netcare Portal

Alberta Netcare is also looking different. For providers participating in the Central Patient Attachment Registry, their name now appears in Alberta Netcare as the patient’s primary provider in patient demographics (see image below). See more in the FAQ for CPAR participants.

For providers working in emergency departments or hospitals, it will be new to see the CPAR primary provider displayed in the patient content banner in Netcare. This primary care relationship was validated in the clinic and shared from the clinic EMR to Netcare via the
CII/CPAR program. The number of providers participating grows monthly. See the FAQ for Netcare users.

For CII/CPAR participants, consider that CPAR ensures that your patients do not fall through the cracks. In some cases, you will see that one of your CPAR paneled patients has been admitted and discharged via CII/CPAR eNotifications and then, if the patient named you as the primary care provider upon registration, and was discharged from a Connect Care enabled site, receive a document via eDelivery.
